My name is Amy Herrman and I am the proud principal of Platteville Elementary School! I truly feel I have my dream job when I get to come to work each day and get to be an important part of the lives of my students. I grew up in the Chicago, IL area and attended the University of Illinois where I received my bachelor’s degree. I then moved to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado and get my master's and teaching license.  Being a classroom teacher was the highlight of my career in education. I taught for 14 years, teaching kindergarten for 4 years, 1st grade for 9 years, and 3rd grade for 1 year. I decided to be a principal so I could make a difference in the lives of even more children. In addition, I am also a resident of Weld Re-1 and a proud parent of two sons, one at Valley High School and one at South Valley Middle School. My husband and I live on a ranch in unincorporated Platteville. I look forward to many years wearing the yellow and black!
